Our Mission

Ballet Mississippi seeks to enhance our state’s cultural life by providing quality performances, developing the artistic and technical proficiency of our students, and promoting an appreciation of dance through education, outreach, and audience development.

“My time at Ballet Mississippi under David Keary was the catalyst for my journey of becoming a professional ballerina. When I showed up at his studio as a teenager, David saw great potential in me. In my years at Ballet Mississippi, he fostered and molded the artist in me. He coached me in handling the pressure of being the soloist, while also teaching me to be content in the corps de ballet when I wasn’t in a featured role. David opened my eyes to the expansive world of dance, and encouraged me to chase after my dreams, even if it was scary at first.”

Richmond Ballet Dancer & Ballet Mississippi Alumna

“Thanks to David Keary and Ballet Mississippi, I was equipped with the proper training and skills necessary to pursue a professional dance and musical theatre career. Growing up in Mize, Mississippi, I feel blessed to have had the opportunity and exposure to such elite training that Ballet Mississippi offers, and without it, I doubt that I would have the opportunity to work with renowned choreographers, debut on Broadway and work on productions around the world.”
