Since 2009, Ballet Mississippi has performed excerpts of The Nutcracker at the Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital Tree-lighting event, the culmination of the hospital's light-a-light campaign. This past December, Ballet Mississippi performed at Mississippi's only children's hospital. Ballet Mississippi supports the hospital's Light-A-Light campaign through soliciting schools, attending The Nutcracker matinee school performances, to purchase a ten-dollar light in honor of their school or teacher. Under the leadership of Ballet Mississippi board member, Margaret Taylor, we have helped raise over $12k for the cause.
