When a child learns ballet, it’s not just about knowing the moves that will score the lead role in “The Nutcracker.”

It’s a way of learning all kinds of things, said Kelly Harp Haber, a teacher with Ballet Mississippi who works primarily with children ages 7 and under.

Haber was at the Children’s Museum on Sunday teaching children different dance moves, which she said can help a child develop coordination that can be used throughout his or her lifetime.
